New York Bans Incineration of Firefighting Foam

PFAS Ban

Monday, November 23, 2020 Governor Cuomo enacted a ban on the incineration of fire fighting foam (AFFF) that contains perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS.) The ban essentially targets the Tradebe-owned Norlite facility by banning incineration of the material in “Environmental Justice areas…between 16,000 and 17,000 residents.”
