Louisiana is number two on our list of states with hazardous waste growth.

The growth of volume in Louisiana is primarily the growth of one particular wastestream from one generator (Chemical Waste Management) and also growth in the chemical manufacturing sector.

Chemical Waste Management (CWM), Lake Charles

CWM is the primary contributor for the increase in Louisiana hazardous waste state volumes. Comparing loads from 2020 to 2021, this growth is based on an increase of CWM’s leachate being shipped offsite for disposal.
